Mornings By Mom: Workout, Eats And Deets!

Hi All;

This morning was one hectic morning.  From getting up and trying to get my yoga/meditation
in this morning to my mind going crazy about my work week.  Let me just say it's going to be a long work week.  Luckily I have developed some great ways to help me to cope and to not get so stressed. Stress is the leading cause of other illness that can hurt your body.

Here are the ways that I cope so that I that I don't get stressed throughout the week:

1. Taking care of myself! This one is a given. It's making sure you keep up the basics for yourself.
Making sure that you eat a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Getting enough water is EXTREMELY important. Most of you know the basics of heath and what we all have to do. Not eating properly leads to over eating and weight gain. Trust me...you don't want that.

2. For all of my girly moms there's other ways to limit stress during the week. For example, if you're use to going to the spa and getting that much needed facial, then the best thing to do is to give yourself that much needed "mini facial", or a "pedi" or "mani."
Doing those things helps you to keep yourself looking fabulous, feeling fabulous and keeps the momentum going through the week.

3. Exercise, exercise, exercise! I can't stressed that enough. Moms, please get in your daily exercise. Whether it's yoga, cardio or a class at the gym or whether you have the ability to do it at home; however you must do it is VERY important for your body, mind and your inner peace.

4. Get plenty of sleep. I know this is easier said than done.
According to the National Institutes of Health, the average adult sleeps less than seven hours per night. In today's fast-paced society, six or seven hours of sleep may sound pretty good. In reality, though, it's a recipe for chronic sleep deprivation.
You can read more right here .

5. Take a break! If your stress is caused by those weekly nuances, then taking a break is crucial for you. It not only helps you to breath but it helps you to relax and unscramble all of what happened 5 mins prior. You can do a 5 min de-stresser if you really need to. You can do so by following these steps right here:

Lastly; take the time to enjoy life's moments. Each day that we wake up it's a moment in time. We live our lives by "moments." Those moments turn into memories. Don't let stinky stress stop you from living an abundant life that you're meant to live. Remember, life is meant to be lived in a great way!

Always think positive no matter what😄

New Discoveries That's Trending!

In an age where everything and I mean everything is trending, we are bombarded with EVERYTHING! So much that we don't truly look at the products or read about them until some cutesy celeb mom is trending on social media with the next big thing. That seems to be when the world takes notice of those gems that have been there all along.

I found some awesome products that came out of the (ABC Kids's Expo) that's held in Vegas each year.  It's the largest juvenile and kids show that showcases the latest gadgets and baby products that parents can buy.

Here's what I found that we're loving right now:

Sago Mini Tuck Me In Quilt ($100). It was created by the dad behind the Sago Mini Apps For Kids. The quilt is designed with pockets kids can use to tuck in their favorite stuffed animals at night (sooooo cute).

Project Nursery Parent + Baby Smart Band. It's a band that tracks your entire pregnancy; from fetal movements to everything else! Once the little arrives you can record diaper changes, nap times and feedings directory into the device or it's corresponding app. It also records moms steps and much more. It came out this month and is only ($150).

Graco Forever Extend2Fit. Designed for rear-facing kids 4 to 50 lbs and forward-facing kinds 22 to 50 lbs. This seat combines two of their popular seats the 4Ever and Xtend2Fit. When used as a no-seat backer it's designed for kids up to 120 lbs. It retails for ($350). Which means for all you new parents out there, it could be a great investment for you in the long run.

Skip Hop Baby's View 3-stage Activity Center. This amazing activity center was designed with the help of a pediatrician and is the only one on the market with a discovery window. It allows babies to watch their own fancy footwork. Plus all of the toys clip on and are movable. I love this!!

SiliKids Siliskin Plate and Bowl. Coming in spring 2017 it's silicone, so it won't collapse when you grab it. The plate acts as a lid. And...it's microwavable despite the embedded stainless steel ring. We're soooo loving this!

Dock-a-Tot Cloud Tot. One of the most buzzed about products at the show. This smart mattress slips into the base of the dock-a-tot and provides parents with information about their sleeping babies via blue-toothed enabled app. If your baby hasn't moved in 12 seconds the mattress gives the baby a jiggle to startle it. It also detects moisture when your baby is wet and plays soothing noise to help your little one fall asleep and stay asleep (not sure about that one). All in all this seems like a winner!

These are only a few of my favorites that came out of the show as top winners. However, there were many more to see. To see all of the products that was featured at the show visit (www.theabcshow.com).
Plus get the inside scoop on upcoming shows as well as information on vendors.

Parent's with so many products out on the market sometimes it's hard to know which products are best or worst. We say, do your research and buy what's best for you and your family. You don't always have to buy what's trending these days but you can buy what "you" like. Remember to use your "mom" instinct and choose wisely.

Until next time...

Mornings By Mom: More Time Please

Hi All;

I know this post is super late.  The morning has already past but I had to post to see if other moms could relate and how you handle your time.

Have you ever tried and tried to grab more time throughout the day but it seems like the day runs it's course and then "POOF" it's time for bed?

Well; I have and it's very annoying. It's annoying because, you do all of the right things to figure out your day and then something infiltrates and then it's a disaster! Yeah I know it happens to all of us but when you stop to think about it, it's like you ask yourself, "why does it happen?"

So I started my own regime while implementing small things from other people like twitter's "Jack Dorsey." His days are so planned to the wire that it's sickening (not in a bad way). But I thought to myself...I can do that. I can fit most things in on my to do list and be satisfied.  Which is easier said than done.

Here's Jack Dorsey's morning routine:

Image result for jack dorsey

Monday-Friday:
-up at 5 am
-mediate 30 mins
-7 min workout x 3 (whoa)
-gets coffee
-checks in
-to bed 11 pm

Mornings By Mom's routine:
-up at 5 am
-drink a water (1 glass)
-meditate 20 mins (total silence)
-yoga (10 min stretch)
-get coffee (2 cups)
-breakfast (hard boiled egg w/fruit)
-head to office (8 am)
-to bed by 11:30 or sometimes 12

Moms I have to tell you in doing this I was so tired. However it did perk me up and enabled me to focus a lot more. In the end in doing this, it helped me to be more productive in my own routine (with a few tweaks here and there).

I believe for anyone to be more productive in what they are striving to do, they must be serious and focused. Having a morning routine definitely helps because it keeps everything organized so that you can be your best self. More than anything, you want to make sure that you're CLEAR-HEADED and FOCUSED at those most critical moments during the day.

Don't be afraid to create your own morning routine to keep you focused and your day organized.

NEW BIZ SPOTLIGHT: Paw 2 Paw Dog Walking!

Hi All!

I just want to tell you guys about a fantastic new business that was started by one of my dear friends.

It's a great dog walking boutique service located in "Hampton Roads" VA.  She started this business out of the necessity of just her love for dogs.  She's been a pet owner herself and has always loved being around dogs.

The business is new and it's nothing like it in the area.  It's a boutique dog walking service for folks who DON'T HAVE TIME TO WALK THEIR DOGS AT ALL.  The prices are medium to high (depending on how many days you actually pay for).  How it goes is: "you" the potential client visit her website and submit a request through the site about needing services.  After that's submitted she will call you to do a consult and put you and your furry friend on the schedule.  Payment is through the site also.  It makes it easy peasy and that's it.

So check out "PAW 2 PAW DOG WALKING" @ www.paw2pawdogwalking.com to schedule a consult today.  Her calendar is filling up so contact her soon!

BACK TO SCHOOL AND ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES!

Parents! Parents! Parents! Parents! Parents!

It's the end of July and guess what time it is again?

It's Back To School!

Yes that's rights "MOMS" it's that time again for school clothes, school supplies and everything else your youngins will need to start the school year off with a bang.

If your child is attending a school that requires uniforms then you're the lucky moms, due to most stores will have the uniforms on sale right now! Stores like Walmart, Target, and the online e-commerce sites will be giving you very good deals. Don't forget to include school supplies while you're at it.

Contrary to what parents believe about buying school supplies right now, now is the time instead of waiting until the last minute. Right now your big box stores will always have school supplies, but also try places like your local grocery chains such as, Kroger, Farm Fresh and others will have school supplies as cheap as any other store.

For the moms who's kids don't wear uniforms, well hey, places like walmart, maybe target, tj max, roses, marshalls, and other discount chains is the place to shop, especially if you have multiple kids.  As a mom I know and you know if you're trying to save a buck, you have to shop around. Our advice to start off  the school year is to get a good 4-5 outfits. Then change those outfits up. As your kids get into the groove of things they can incorporate last years outfits (if they haven't outgrown them) into the brand new stuff. No need to toss those oldies to the side when you can do mixing and matching. That way you can save some dough.

As parents we know that times are tough and things with providing for your families get tougher and tougher.  That's why it's extremely important to start the process right now in the middle of summer to make sure your kids get all that they need to start the school year off right.  There's great organizations in your local communities who are taking donations for school supplies from big box retailers to GIVE AWAY! Make sure you start looking for those organizations RIGHT NOW to sign up or do what's required to get you name on the list. School supplies that are given out to families freely go pretty quickly so be sure to contact your city hall, or search the web to see whose doing "BIG SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVES" and contact them. If you get in on it early enough, you can get all of the items that your kids need to start the school year off right.

Lastly, I just want to tell parents to be safe and take the time to enjoy the rest of this beautiful summer with your kids.  Yeah; I know you may have to work and your kids are in some camp to keep them busy. However, the best time is spent with "you" the mom and family. Putting in that "TIME" with your kids will be the most memorable for years to come. Trust me I know.

Until next post, be safe and enjoy the rest of your summer:-)

Oh totally forgot. For my thrift store MOMS! Check those thrift stores right now.  Sometimes they have the best pieces. If your kids are crafty kids and like to create his or her style let them take the wheel and create their own style. I promise you MOMS, this is what the kids are doing anyway:-)

Mornings By Mom!!

Hi All!

I've been lagging behind which isn't like me to do.

"Ugh! Ugh and a big Ugh!"

"It gets to me at times that my self-awareness falls to the back." Not good!

Working, developing a business and being a mom takes up every part of my day and sometimes I'm just blah-blah. If there's a mom out there that feels what I'm talking about then please let me know. Because sometimes it can be the pits!

Today isn't any exception.  Due to the new development of new a business my Sundays aren't those relaxed Sunday's like I am use to. "Although, when you have a little one running around messing, into everything and tugging on your pant leg relaxing goes out the window."
"Oh well. I digress. I must!"

This morning I was scouring the internet and I found some really great deals! These deals aren't at your local walmart, kmart, five below or khols. These deals are at your local "Rose's" or "Rose's Express." They are really good.
I think most of us have kind of put Rose's on the back burner because they aren't around like they use to be. My have things changed!

Okay before y'all come with the jokes I totally get that some of y'all may believe that these stores don't exist anymore but they do! They do so much that the company is opening up "Rose's Express" stores all over! The merchandise isn't always the best but I feel if you need a few outfits for the kids for the summer to play in then this is the store! I can't make a good enough case for this store and their merchandise! Seriously! If you're a parent you know what I am talking about when I say to "buy a few things for the kids to run and play in." Sometimes you have to go the very cheap route because you know that during the summer most kids are going be roughin-it.

"It is what it is. No shame in our shopping savy game."

Rose's has decent deals and here they are:

In closing out the morning, I just want to thank all of you who stop in to read my ramblings. It means a lot that y'all stop by and read what we put out. My team is "stunningly amazing!" I love them! They truly keep me grounded and on my toes. When I feel like I don't want to, they motivate me and I am so thankful.

So...happy shopping, deal hunting and just having a fun this summer!
